Master of Arts in Psychology - Applied Behavior Analysis option
This master's program is a three-year, 36-credit program. Please note, students can choose to complete this program at their own pace. It is not a requirement that it be completed in three years, however, it is expected that students will complete this program on a timely basis. Specific ABA courses within the master's program will satisfy the academic requirements to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) exam. The UMass Dartmouth certificate courses are highlighted below. Students may choose to take some first year ABA courses during their second year because it may be closer to the time they sit for the BCBA® exam.
All courses offered are under the direction of the UMass Dartmouth Psychology Department and Behavior Analyst Certificate courses are approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®). The BACB® sets the standards for eligibility to take the exam to become a BCBA®. Applicants should be familiar with the BACB® standards.
Following is a typical course sequence for this program. Students must take one of the electives listed in the course descriptions. Please note, choices for electives are subject to change. For updated course schedule, descriptions and location, visit online at umassd.edu/pce/brochure.
