PROMEX, the Center for Export and Investment Promotion, was established by the Government of Cabo Verde in 1990 to encourage foreign investment in export enterprises. It began operations in March, 1991 with four departments: investment facilitation, marketing, research, and administration.

PROMEX's services for investors include

Providing general information, such as information on the economy of Cabo Verde, the investment climate, and the legal and administrative procedures for investment.
Conducting targeted, sector-specific investment missions.
Providing investment counseling services.
Facilitating contacts between foreign investors and potential joint venture partners.
Conducting market research.
Providing site visit support.

PROMEX's headquarters are in Praia. PROMEX maintains ties with the staff of Caboverdean embassies in order to extend its services abroad.

Investors may avail themselves of PROMEX's assistance by contacting the nearest Caboverdean embassy or PROMEX.
