- The rise of the state system in the region between 1914 and 1950 and political, cultural, and economic developments since then.
- The mosaic character of the region and the role it plays in the contemporary world system.
- The literature and culture of the region as illustrated in poetry, prose, paintings, sculpture, architecture, and various forms of design.
- The Palestine-Israel problem and its impact on the regional and international politics.
The objectives of the homepage will be fulfilled through interaction between interested parties. Postings will address the five above cited categories, and readers' reactions are encouraged.
