The campus operating expenditures are categorized by program type based on how the funds are to be used. Currently, from an all funds basis, Instruction represents 31% of the total, Academic Support 12%, and Research 9% The Academic core as defined by Instruction, Academic Support and Research comprise one-half of the total expenditures. Support of the physical plant through daily operations, debt funding, and the transferring of operating income to repair and replacement projects is 11% of total spending. Approximately 14% of spending is for auxiliary enterprises. The remaining 24% of expenditures is spent on Institutional Support (8%), Depreciation (6%), Student Services (5%), Scholarships and Fellowships (3%), and Public Service (2%).
