UMass Dartmouth focuses on convenience and innovation with Zipcar
On February 1, Chancellor MacCormack announced the creation of the SouthCoast’s first partnership with Zipcar, the world’s leading car-sharing service.
Joined by Campus Services Director Jeff Augustine, student body President Joseph Mello and dozens of faculty, staff and students, the Chancellor unveiled two new Zipcars – each of which promises to replace 15 cars in our parking lots and save 75 tons of carbon from being released into the atmosphere every year.
The cost-effective and convenient transportation option is particularly appealing for students. For rates as low as $25 per year and $6 per hour, members of the University community can rent a Zipcar for quick trips across the state and down the street.
This is a great example of the commitment of the University, A&F, and Campus Services to increasing the quality of life and convenience to everyone who lives, works, or visits our campus.
