Procurement Staff Receive Certification
Administrative Services in its continued efforts to professionalize the services provided to the community is pleased to announce that following individuals have obtained the Commonwealth’s Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO) certification.
Michael LaGrassa (Assistant Vice Chancellor) MCPPO;
Jennifer Pacheco (Administrative Assistant II) Associate MCPPO and
Holly Fern (Administrative Assistant II) MCPPO for labor and construction.
The obtainment of MCPPO professional certification requires that an individual demonstrate proficiency within procurement within the public sector. Specifically individuals are required to have in depth knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to the bidding process for various types of products, services and commodities. In order to obtain the certification an individual must attend three state procurement seminars, pass proficiency tests for each seminar, meet educational requirements and have so many years of experience within public purchasing within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
