Emerging Leaders Symposium 2012
On January 27, 2012, Woodland Commons hosted the Emerging Leaders Symposium (ELS) where Bill Mitchell, Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Services was one of several guest speakers. The ELS is held at the beginning of the Spring Semester and is a 4-day long program that nominated first year students attend. It is comprised of workshops and activities to teach them valuable leadership skills for their future endeavors. Bill spoke to 40 first year students about Basic Budget Management and helped them understand that in today's economic environment keeping your financial house in order can be a challenge. The goal was to help them learn the basics of money management, personal finance, and how to create and manage their budget.
