Samantha Bailey transitioned her active student experience to being an active alumna. During her time at UMass Dartmouth, she worked as a tour guide and resident assistant, while also participating in the Gamma Delta chapter of the national Alpha Sigma Tau sorority, Order of Omega Society, Honors program, The Washington Center and Study Abroad. She completed her undergraduate thesis under Professor Robin Robinson and was awarded a Meaningful Community Engagement award from her department upon completion.

Since completing her graduate degree at Brandeis University, Samantha has worked in fundraising for a variety of organizations as a consultant, in addition to holding positions in higher education. She currently works for the Wellesley Fund at Wellesley College.

In September 2016, she married fellow Umass Dartmouth alumna Michelle Conway. Michelle also graduated in 2012 with a dual degree in civil engineering and business administration.
