1977 Umass Dartmouth, B.A., Economics/Political Science/History
As the first of his family to attend college, Ed Hill made sure to make the best of it. During his years at Umass Dartmouth he combined his fascination with history, political science, and economics into a major through the Liberal Arts Department Multidisciplinary Degree option. He was a four-year member of the 1975 varsity cross country team that was later inducted into the Corsair Hall of Fame.
After graduating, he set his sights on helping the community in the Southcoast region he grew up in. His career has taken him from Federal Hill House Community Center in Providence, to People, Incorporated, in Fall River, MA, where involved with staff development and training for direct care human service works that supported developmentally disabled adults. He is currently employed at SER-Jobs in Fall River, MA. SER-Jobs offers employment services, job skills and increasing business and economic opportunities for minority communities and other disadvantaged people, a natural fit for someone who has spent his life helping out his community. Hill himself is a career counselor and job specialist for the company that helps youth that have been involved with the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services.
In addition to his various professional experience at companies all around New England, Hill also won the Alumni Volunteer Service Award in 2017.
