Fouad Jeryes is one of UMass Dartmouth's most accomplished students: a 3.9 grade point average as a management information systems major, officer in the Golden Key International Honors Society, Writing and Reading Center tutor, and intern with a New Bedford company. Chosen for the International Scholars Laureate Program, the Tewksbury native spent a week in China, meeting that country's business and political leaders. And he was one of the 300 students chosen from 25,000 applicants to participate in a diversity leadership conference, sponsored by monster. com in San Francisco. He is also one of the many students who rely on scholarship aid to stay at the university. In addition to being the first recipient of the Cecil Lopes scholarship, Jeryes has received an Alumni Association scholarship.
