Cultural
Enrichment
The WRC seeks
to encourage the love of and exposure to literature and the artistic
process and to add to the cultural offerings of the University. The
following are some of the programs we organize and offer:
- Poetry Readings.
We hold open mike poetry/literature readings at which any
student or faculty wishing to share work is invited to participate.
- Chautauqua.
Each spring we hold our annual festival
of the arts. All students and faculty are invited to
display or perform their work and to explain their creative processes
to the audience. In years past, participants have
offered the following demonstrations: fencing,
drama, belly-dancing, video, saxophone, and so on.
- International Pot
Luck Supper. We
typically invite all members of the University, particularly the
Conversation Partner and Group participants, to bring dishes
representing their heritage and share an evening of food and
conversation.
- Speakers. We
host talks from faculty or other individuals connected to writing and
the arts.
