Sixth Annual Dartmouth Botulinum Research Symposium is being held on August 16-17, 2012. Previous symposia have been very successful in bringing together many researchers from academia, government laboratories, and the industry. You are invited to look at last year's symposium details at http://www.umassd.edu/brc/symposia/symposium2011/.
This symposium provides a unique format to get researchers from academia, industry, government labs, and policy makers to get together in a more informal setting than other typical conferences. This gives better opportunity for fostering relevant discussions.
Previous years' symposia have attracted several program officers (these are the people who recommend funding at federal agencies) from DoD (DARPA and DTRA), DHS (DTRA, FDA), and NIH, several of our industrial collaborators, and our long term collaborators who also work with the Center for funding and research.
The Symposium has become an annual reunion of botulinum researchers, and provides an attractive atmosphere of a combination of formal presentations and informal interactions. Many collaborative projects have been fostered as a result.
The symposium attendees are by invitation only. However, anyone wishing to attend the symposium can receive invitation by contacting Dr. Bal Ram Singh at bsingh@umassd.edu.
