Special Events

The Campus Store sponsors book signing throughout the academic year and also extends it's regular business hours in the evenings and weekends for special events. Special events include freshmen and upper class move-in days, textbook hours, Family & Friends weekend, Alumni weekend, Admissions open house, Discovery Days & Commencement weekend.

Event information is distributed through e-mail using UMDNotify and UMDAnnoucne, on the UMass Dartmouth Events Page http://www.umassd.edu/calendar/welcome.cfm?view=monthly and on the Campus Store Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/people/Campus-Store/1156986409.

Academic Regalia

The Campus Store distributes caps & gowns to graduates in late April. Students must apply for graduation and be free from service indicators and financial holds prior to the distribution date. Information about Commencement is available at http://www.umassd.edu/commencement/. Students will receive an e-mail and letter home with specific dates and times in early April.

Regalia for undergraduates (Bachelor Degree) includes cap, gown, hood, tassel and appropriate honor cord. The gown is distributed by height and is available in extra wide. The hood lining is in the school colors of blue/gold and the hood trim represents the degree:

Bachelor of Art - White
Bachelor of Science - Gold
Bachelor of Nursing - Apricot
Bachelor Fine Arts - Brown

The undergraduate honor cords are distributed based on the cumulative GPA in December.

Red = Summa Cum Laude (GPA 3.800 to 4.000)
Lt. Blue = Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.500 to 3.799)
White = Cum Laude (GPA 3.200 to 3.499)
Graduate (Master Degree) includes cap, gown, hood and tassel (no honor cord). The Master gown is longer and has flanged sleeves. The hood lining is in the school colors of blue/gold and the hood trip represents the degree:

Master of Art - White
Master of Science - Gold
Master of Business Administration - Drab
Master of Public Policy - Peacock
Master of Nursing - Apricot
Master of Fine Arts - Brown

PhD recipients receive a custom gown with velvet arm stripes and will be "hooded" at the graduate ceremony.

Return Policy

Textbooks may be returned for a full refund during the first 2 weeks of each semester  (1st  week for summer & special classes), with a cash register receipt. New textbooks must be in original condition with any seals intact and cannot be marked by pen or highlighter. Please hold on to your receipt and do not write in your book until you are positive you are going to keep it.

The Campus Store will provide a refund on non-textbook items for a period of two weeks. This may be extended for holiday and gift purchases. No cash will be refunded without a register receipt. Computer hardware and software sales are final.
