Our professional career counselors are here to assist you by private appointment. We can provide assistance and advisement to assist you in developing your job search and professional skills including:

  • Job search assistance
  • Internship search assistance
  • Help choosing a major

Career Events

We present a diverse array of career fairs and panels throughout the year, including:

  • Work ‘n Serve Job Fair
  • Business Career Night
  • Engineering & Technologies Job Fair
  • Allied Health & Nursing Career Fair
  • Federal Career Panel
  • Spring Career Expo

On-campus recruiting    

We invite an array of recruiters to visit our campus and conduct on-campus interviews throughout the year. Often these opportunities follow a career event or a job or internship posting on CareerLink. Be sure to attend as many events as you can, keep your resume updated on CareerLink, and browse the available postings there periodically so that you don’t miss out on these opportunities.

We present periodic workshops and seminars throughout the year, including:

  • Etiquette Workshops
  • Annual Washington Center Information Sessions

Professional Etiquette

Did you know that your manners, your image, your handshake, or the way you hold a fork could cause you to win or lose a job opportunity or promotion? Developing your skills in professional etiquette is part of preparing for your successful future.

The staff at the Career Development Center has been trained and certified in Collegiate Etiquette by DTN Productions International to provide training in all the areas of professional etiquette, including:

  • Business dining and entertainment
  • Verbal diplomacy
  • Handshaking
  • Professional visual image
  • Business card presentations
  • Tipping
  • Gender etiquette
  • Voice mail courtesies
  • Email/netiquette
  • Body language
  • Grooming, business accessories, and suitable attire       
  • Casual vs. formal introductions
  • Office behaviour
      

Etiquette Dinners/Seminars

Custom etiquette dinners/seminars are available upon request. Call us at 508.999.8658 to schedule an etiquette dinner for your department, office, or student group. We promise you will have some fun and the skills you will gain will help enable you to present yourself with confidence in the professional world.
