Minor in African and African-American Studies
The African and African-American Studies Program offers a minor option for undergraduates. The minor is open to ALL students,
even those majoring in Engineering, Business Studies, or Nursing.
Road to the Minor
To graduate with a minor in African and African-American Studies, you are required to earn 18 credits of AAS-designated
courses, including:
(a) AAS 101, Introduction to African and African-American Studies (3 credits), and
(b) AAS 480, Seminar in African and African-American Studies (3 credits).
AAS-designated courses being offered in any semester are available at http://www.umassd.edu/courselistings/courselisting.cfm
And remember, AAS courses are listed under College of Arts and Sciences.
To elect to graduate with a minor in African and African-American Studies, first download this “request for minor form ”
PDF form, complete the form, and return it to Ms. Karen Monahan (in Lib. Arts Building, Room 396F). We will get your
form to the Registry.
