James Pace '09 is currently pursuing his law degree at Suffolk Law while working full-time as a US Probation Officer. “While at UMass Dartmouth, I interned at Brockton District Court and quickly realized I was interested in becoming a Probation Officer,” he said. “It is a great job and every day is something new.”

Erin Cournoyer ’14 is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at UMass Boston. “My UMass Dartmouth professors were incredibly caring and supported me when I decided not to go to law school,” she said. “Through long conversations in office hours and innumerable e-mails, they helped me create a path to career opportunities out of my simple desire to ‘help people.’”

Ashley Hernandez '15, a therapeutic mentor for Y.O.U. Inc., is a candidate for a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology at American International College. “Going to college was one of the best decisions I made,” she said. “I enjoyed my four years at UMass Dartmouth and I made connections with people that I’m happy to call lifelong friends.”

Rufai Shardow ’14, a 4-year veteran of the United States Army, is a Park Ranger at New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. "As a liberal arts student, I was trained to communicate well and be a critical thinker,” he said. “The Crime & Justice major developed me into a critical thinker and my minor in English helped me polish my writing.”
