Post Baccalaureate Initial Licensure Program Requirements

Requirements for admission to the teacher preparation program

 

1. Submit a completed certificate application and transcript with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.

2. Possess a BA or BS degree.

3. Participate in a preliminary advising interview with a member of the Education Department at the university.

4. Have received a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills Test (CLST-01) of the Massachusetts Test of Educator Licensure (MTEL).  Click here for MTEL registration information

5. Have received a passing score on the appropriate MTEL Content Knowledge test. Click here for MTEL registration information

6. Completion of EDU 207 - Teaching As a Profession (or approved equivalent) with B- or better. 

7. Completion of PSY 201- Child Psychology (for Elementary Education) or PSY 210 - Adolescent Psychology (for Middle and Secondary Education)
