Bio: Peter Owens is the author of the novel Rips and recipient of several national EDUCOM Award-winning software packages; is founder and the first editor of www.KidNews.com, winner of dozens of national and international awards; an essayist whose "Rumblings" appeared in the book Living North Country: Essays on Life and Landscape in Northern New York; a journalist whose work has appeared in scores of publications including "The Guardian" of London; and is author of the books Manmade Disasters: Oil and Chemical Spills, Lucent Books, 2004, Teens Health and Obesity, Mason Crest Books, 2005. Most recently his short fiction has appeared in Northwoods Anthology 2006 and Dan River Anthology (forthcoming). Owens is also an award-winning artist and photographer whose "Story Art" sculptures have appeared in galleries and can be seen at www.powens.com.
