Bio: Lulu C. H. Sun is Associate Professor of English. She is a former Director of First-Year English as well as a former Director of the M.A.T. Program in English. She has taught a variety of courses including graduate seminars on Teaching Writing: Theory and Practice as well as Theory and Practice in Teaching Reading and Writing. In addition, she has taught numerous undergraduate courses such as Critical Writing and Reading; Greek Myth and Drama; Literature and Society; Rhetorical Theory; The Romantic Age; Seminar in a British Author: Wordsworth and Coleridge; Teaching English: Classroom Methods; and Writing About Popular Culture. She has also served as director of M.A.T. theses, Professional Writing theses, and Honors theses.

Dr. Sun's research background is mostly qualitative. She has published journal articles and presented numerous conference papers on composition; English education; children's adolescents' and adults' narratives; computers and technology; and the ethics of using person-based writing. She recently published "Presenting and Mispresenting Students: Constructing an Ethic of Representation in Composition Studies" in Writing on the Edge. Some of her other publications include "The MLA Job Information List: The Perils of Not Paying Attention" in The Journal of the Midwest Modern Language Association (co-authored with Maureen Hourigan) and "The Loss of Narrative Innocence: The Development of Narrative Consciousness From Child to Adolescent" in Narrative Inquiry.
