English Department Programs
Our department offers many courses of study for both undergraudate and graduate students. Undergraduate students can major or minor in English while concentrating in a specific area of study. Graduate students also focus on a area of study or take courses in a broad range of writing fields.
Undergraduate English
As an undergraduate English major or minor, you can concentrate in one of two areas of study depending on your interests.

Our department also provides a Freshman program that includes
- introductory composition courses (ENL 100, 101, 102)
- testing and evaluation of the writing ability of incoming students
- English-as-a-second-language instruction
- professional communications courses for students in business, technology, engineering, and computer science programs (ENL 265 and ENL 266)
Graduate English
When you start your course of study in our Graduate Program in Professional Writing, you have a diverse selection of courses from which to choose. And you will have the opportunity to focus on a particular subject area, such as technical writing, or to select courses from numerous areas for a more well-rounded degree.

Professional Writing Certificate Program
