The certification examination for graduates from the Clinical Laboratory Science program is the Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) examination offered by the Board of Certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology). The pass rate for graduates who have taken the exam for the first time is: CLS Class of 2011: 86% Pass Rate (National pass rate was 79%) CLS Class of 2012: 81% Pass Rate (National pass rate was 80%) CLS Class of 2013: 74% Pass Rate (National pass rate was 84%) CLS Class of 2014: Results will be available January 2015. Preliminary results can be obtained by contacting the CLS Program Director.CLS Class of 2011: All twenty-one (21) graduates had jobs within six (6) months of graduation. Nineteen (19) students were employed in clinical laboratory settings and two (2) biotechnology settings. All jobs are in Massachusetts. CLS Class of 2012: All twenty-one (21) graduates had a job within six (6) months of graduation and all were employed in clinical laboratory settings. Nineteen (19) are employed in Massachusetts; one (1) in Rhode Island; one (1) in Kansas. CLS Class of 2013: All 36 graduates had a job within six (6) months of graduation. Thirty-four (34) graduates were employed in clinical laboratory settings and two (2) in biotechnology settings. Thirty-three (33) are employed in Massachusetts; two (2) in Rhode Island; and one (1) in Pennsylvania. CLS Class of 2014: Results will be available January 2015. Preliminary results can be obtained by contacting the CLS Program Director.
