Professor Jenkins' research focuses on American public policy and state and local politics, with a specific emphasis upon state legislatures and political parties. She has published several articles on a variety of topics in American politics in journals such as Legislative Studies Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, and Urban Affairs Review. Prof. Jenkins' work includes “10 Years After the Revolution: 1994 and Partisan Control of Government” in The State of the Parties: The Changing Role of Contemporary American Parties (Rowman & Littlefield), "The Impact of Party and Ideology on Roll-Call Voting in State Legislatures" published in Legislative Studies Quarterly, and "Sustainable Master Planning in Urban Politics: A Service-Learning Project" in the Journal of Political Science Education. She recently authored an article entitled "Party Influence on Roll Call Voting: A View from the States" which appared in State Politics and Policy Quarterly.
