Counseling Sequence
Students interested in careers in counseling may elect to take a three-course counseling sequence which introduces students to some of the applied aspects of psychology.
Psy 406 Counseling I presents various theoretical approaches t ;counseling and prepares students with basic practical skills.
Psy 407 Counseling II is a continuation of Psy 406. It includes supervised practicum experiences.
Psy 480 Field Work in Counseling Psychology provides a one-day a week work experience in human service agencies.
Students may take one, two, or all three courses in this sequence. The faculty recommend that those students who anticipate taking two or three of these courses take Psy 406 Counseling 1 in the second semester of their junior year.
