Classroom Help
Many organizations on campus are glad to partner with faculty, provide information or occasionally teach classes:
Faculty Sub Program
If you have a scheduled absence (conference, religious holiday, etc.), we would be happy to do a workshop with your class. We suggest:
- Time Management,
- Stress Management,
- Relationship Skills,
- MegaMemory, or
- Career Interest Exploration.
Other topics are available upon request. In the past faculty have requested workshops on Performance Anxiety for music students and on team building for classes struggling with group projects. We would also be especially interested in meeting with freshmen liberal arts classes to do career interest testing and provide assistance with solidifying the choice of a major.
Please call X8650 to arrange your workshop. We'll need to know the number of students, time and place, and whether the class is mostly under or upper classmen.E-mail suggestions for topics to cfrizzell@umassd.edu.

"We offer study skills, resume and graduate school essay workshops throughout the year. We can present such workshops upon request in your classes. In addition, we provide hard copy handouts on all aspects of the writing process, resume and graduate school personal statement writing, and reading and study skills.
Selected freshman English courses participate in our Collaborative Learning Program in which students meet with the tutor in small groups weekly at the WRC. You may make similar arrangements for your course(s)."
"The library offers instruction in the use and evaluation of library and information resources to UMass Dartmouth students at all levels, from first year courses to advanced graduate seminars. The reference/instruction librarians are eager to work with faculty members to design class sessions geared to specific courses and specific assignments.
Linda Zieper (x8526, LZieper@umassd.edu) is coordinator of library instruction; please feel free to contact her with any general questions or comments."
"Through student affairs research, evaluation and assessment, this office assists in identifying and better understanding the development needs of students of color, international students, first-year students, and other diverse student groups. The office helps to create an integrated campus environment where all students, no mater what their skin color, their religion, or their cultural background, can feel comfortable and welcome. The office is also involved in the development and implementation of a number of support programs, activities and services that seek to improve student learning, satisfaction and retention."

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is comitted to fostering an ethic of service on campus. We believe through participation in quality service activities our students, faculty and staff make a significant contribution to our community, find meaningful extra-curricular activity and develop an increased sense of civic responsibility.
Also, consider having your students paticipate in some of the excellent lectures, presentations, and cultural events—many are held weekly—as part of their course requirements. Check the UMass Dartmouth Calendar for dates, times, and locations.
