Profiles Conversations Initiatives Resources

Greetings,

If you are interested in community service and service-learning we are here to help. Whether it's training resources, a connection in the community or a brainstorming session, the Community Service Program of the Career Resource Center is available to assist.

Established in 2001, the community service program coordinates the America Reads Tutoring program and events such as an annual community service fair, alternative Spring Break trip and the Oxfam Hunger Banquet. We have helped to develop community service and service-learning opportunities for students, faculty and staff with community based organizations including the Community Economic Development Center of Southeastern MA, Community Building Mini Grant program of the United Way, the Mount Pleasant Elementary School, the Coalition for Buzzards Bay and the Girl Scouts.

We are eager to work with you to help make a difference in our community and the lives of our students. Located in the ground Floor of Group 1 in the Career Resource Center, come by on Thursday at 3:00 for our weekly communiTEA or visit our website at umassd.edu/crc/commserv.

Sincerely,

Deirdre Healy
Community Service Coordinator
