UMass Dartmouth is in the process of transitioning to the use of a new learning management system (LMS): WebCT Vista. WebCT Vista is an interactive online learning environment that many faculty use to facilitate their face-to-face (f2f) classes. Many of you may already be familiar with WebCT or with Blackboard, another popular LMS. WebCT Vista is overseen by the Computing and Information Technology Systems (CITS) Instructional Development team at UMass Dartmouth. A CITS policy is that all UMass Dartmouth faculty must successfully complete an online training class in order to use WebCT Vista.
Training classes are held throughout the academic year and during the summer break. I shall send out a message if there is going to be a class held this summer. You may also contact Tracey Russo (trusso@umassd.edu) to find out this information.
