University Organizations
Chris Laib, Assistant Director of Student Activities, writes:
In addition to your work in the classroom, faculty play an important role in the extra-curricular lives of our students. Each student organization is required to have a faculty or staff advisor in order to be a recognized student organization. This link, between academic and activities, is important to the development of students. We currently have a large number of faculty involved in our student organizations, but are always looking for faculty members who are interested in getting involved in the campus community. New groups form every year, and for some it is a struggle to find a faculty or staff advisor. If you are interested in participating in the lives of our students outside of the classroom please contact the Office of Student Activities and we will work to connect you with a student organization that may be of interest to you.
