Dr. Barrow's expert opinion is frequently cited in the media. His research and commentary has been cited in 1130 newspaper articles throughout Massachusetts and the United States, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, Pravda,  Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, St. Louis Post-Dipatch, Milwaukee Sentinel, and Forbes Magazine. He has made 301 radio appearances and 210 television appearances, particularly on questions related to state and regional economic development, Massachusetts public policy, and gaming policy.

He has also delivered invited expert testimony for the Massachusetts, Michigan, and Rhode Island state legislatures, committees of the US Congress, the E.P.A., and other government agencies.
