Investing in your future: The CCB Co-Op
The Charlton College of Business Co_op offers students two semesters of full-time, paid, professional work experience (up to 26 weeks at a time) with Charlton partners.
The CCB Co-Op work experience takes place in the first semester of junior and senior year. Generally, students participating in the CCB Co-Op take 5 years to finish their degree program, graduating with one year of meaningful, professional work experience related to their major.
The CCB Co-Op experience also helps students pay for the following semester at UMass Dartmouth.
Students in the CCB Co-Op will apply classroom knowledge to a substantive work experience, develop organizational and professional skills, and practice technical skills in their major.
While at the employer co-op site, students continue to engage with faculty members through online discussion boards in which they reflect on their experiences.
Traditionally, co-op positions turn into full-time opportunities after graduation - students are career ready and can hit the ground running. This provides students with a significant advantage in the job marketplace. In addition, students are provided with the opportunity to 'test drive' a career in up to two industries before choosing their final career path.
