David is a full time lecturer in the Decision and Information Sciences department. David will be teaching multiple sections of MIS101 as well as other courses in the future. David has taught college courses face to face, hybrid as well as online delivery.
Burke has a wealth of experience in business, education, speaking and consulting. For the last eight years, David has taught adjunct college classes such as Introduction to Business, Human Resources Management, Legal Aspects of HR, Global Management, Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Small Business, as well as computer based courses such as Business Practicum and Applied Technology. David has taught at several colleges such as Wilmington University and Cecil College.
David is currently at the dissertation stage of a doctoral program in Higher Education & Leadership. The dissertation is focused upon Mentoring the Millennial Generation to Impact Retention in the Freshman Year Experience. Research interests include various aspects of leadership, the impact of multiple generations in the workforce, as well as the consumer behavior of the millennial generation
David is not only a strong academic leader and communicator, but it is also a practitioner in the fields of business and education. As an owner of two small businesses focused upon speaking, coaching, training, leadership development and consulting, Burke has had the privilege of speaking in over 40 states and several countries. Some of David’s clients have included Herr’s Foods, Goodwill Industries, and DE Society of Human Resource Management, New Castle County government and various agencies of the state of Delaware.
David has been married for over 23 years and has 3 children. For the last 12 years, the Burke family has lived in Delaware and spends their summers at the Jersey Shore in Ocean Grove.
