Dr. Nichalin Summerfield is a Full Time Lecturer in the Decision and Information Sciences department at UMass Dartmouth. She received her Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Operations Management and a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. She has taught courses in business statistics, quantitative analysis, operations management, project management, and information systems. Her main research interests are in the area of multi-stage competitive and cooperative games encountered in supply chain management. Her published articles have appeared in International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of the Spanish Society of Statistics and Operations Research, and Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology. She has presented her research work at meetings and conferences such as INFORMS Annual Meetings, MSOM Annual Conference, and International Conference on Game Theory. Before pursuing her Ph.D., she worked for five years at Accenture (Thailand) where she was involved in IT process re-design projects and various system integration projects. She had also developed the image compression software used on the Phoenix Mars Lander while working as a part-time software engineer at the University of Arizona.
