SUSANNE G. SCOTT - Ph.D. (University of Cincinnati)

Professor received her Ph.D. in Management from the University of Cincinnati in 1993 and joined UMASS Dartmouth in 1998. She previously taught at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, the University of Dayton, and the Helsinki University of Economics and Business.

Her current research focuses on individual, group, and organizational identity, project team effectiveness, and workplace justice. Dr. Scott's articles have appeared in numerous scholarly journals, including the Academy of Management Review, The Academy of Management Journal, Personnel Psychology, The Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

Prior to obtaining her Ph.D., she spent approximately 10 years in Quality Assurance and Materials Control Management in a number of major corporations and approximately 10 years in consulting and training on recruitment and employment issues, managing diversity, and structuring team-based organizations.

She currently consults and trains for a number of companies on the design of team-based structures, collaborative work processes and structures, organizational image and identity, and organizational change. Dr. Scott teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in organizational behavior, organizational development, leadership, and teamwork. She resides with her husband, Robert, and her basset hounds in rural Rhode Island where she enjoys gardening and gourmet cooking.
