Dr. Sibdari is an assistant professor of Operations Management in the Charlton College of Business. He teaches courses in Statistics and Operations Management.
Dr. Sibdari received his B.S. degree in computer science from National University of Iran in 1997. He received a master degree in economics in 2001 and a Ph.D. degree in operations research in 2005 both from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He completed his Ph.D. dissertation in the area of dynamic pricing and game theory with airline ticket-pricing as an application.
Dr. Sibdari’s research focuses on stochastic modeling in operations, economics, and statistics. He is particularly interested in the modeling and analysis of logistics systems, including airline-industry problems, using simulation, mathematical programming, and statistical analysis.
Prior to joining University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Sibdari worked as a senior analyst for United Airlines in the area of revenue management, game theory, and consumer choice models. He is currently collaborating with the research group of United Airlines as a research consultant. Dr. Sibdari is also collaborating with the research group of Amtrak in developing a dynamic pricing system for the Auto Train, a distinctive service provided by Amtrak.
Another research area of Dr. Sibdari lies in the area of applied statistics, particularly consumer choice models. He is currently completing a research on traffic management using consumer choice models.
