DAN BRAHA - PhD (Tel Aviv University, Isreal)
Professor Dan Braha received his PhD in operations research and industrial engineering from Tel Aviv University, Israel. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and is an affiliate of the New England Complex Systems Institute (NECSI) in Cambridge MA. Dr. Braha was a Visiting Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of technology (MIT), a Research Scientist at Boston University, and a tenured faculty at Ben-Gurion University. Dr. Braha has published extensively in various prestigious journals including Management Science, IIE Transactions, IEEE Transaction, Physical Review, the International Journal of Production Research, and Research in Engineering Design. He has also published a book on the foundations of design with Kluwer, a book on data mining with Kluwer, and a book on the emerging science of Complex Engineered Systems with Springer. Dr. Braha has served as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions, and the editor of several special journal issues. Currently, he serves on the editorial board of several leading journals.
He has also served on executive committees and as chair in several international conferences. Dr. Braha's research interests are in the creation of a new area of engineering and management science research whose main objective is to characterize the real-world structure, and eventually the dynamics of complex managerial systems. This research could aid decision-makers in coping with complexity, developing operational strategies, and improving the decision making process. Further information about Dr. Braha's work can be found at http://necsi.org/affiliates/braha/DanBrahaPapers.htm.
