Welcome to the International Business Certificate Home Page!

The International Business Certificate is a program for students enrolled in one of the majors in the Charlton College of Business. The certificate is a recognition that a student has studied at least three semesters of a foreign language, has completed courses in economics or political science focused on international issues, as well as completed one of the courses offered by the college in international business. In addition, the certificate requires a student to spend some time overseas in either a college-sponsored trip or as an exchange student in one of our partner universities.

Students can choose to study any foreign language offered at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth as part of the language requirement.

For those students who study German, there is a special program within the International Business Certificate which is offered in conjunction with our partner universities in the German State of Hessen. In this program, students can spend a month in Germany as early as the end of their freshman year and earn up to 9 credits toward their undergraduate business degree. In the junior year, students can then elect to return to Germany for a semester or to participate in an internship in Germany.
