Admission Requirements

Admission to the MBA program is available to qualified individuals who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Applicants must submit the required application materials for the Graduate School with two letters of recommendation and the GMAT or an equivalent test.

Applications are reviewed by the MBA Graduate Director, who considers the following criteria:

  • Performance in previous college/university study.
  • Results from the GMAT or an equivalent test.
  • Two letters of recommendation (preferably one from a faculty member and one from an employer.)
  • An essay of 200-300 words describing the applicant's motivation and goals.)
  • Employment experience.
  • Results from the TOEFL, if required.

This memorandum is to alert you to admissions and curricular revisions to the MBA program that do not appear in the latest version of the Graduate Catalogue. There is a note in the current Graduate Catalogue that alerts students to forthcoming changes and asks them to consult the website. The changes outlined below were initiated, voted on, and approved by the Charlton College of Business Graduate Curriculum Committee in the Fall 2005.

Admissions requirements

Admission to the MBA program is available to qualified individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Applicants must submit the required application materials and application fee to the Graduate School with two letters of recommendation, the GMAT or an equivalent test and a resume.

Applications are reviewed and judged on the following criteria to be considered:

  • Performance in previous college/university study with a minimum GPA grade of 2.5. Students must provide original transcripts from all institutions of higher learning attended showing grades. Students with transcripts from outside the United States must have their transcripts translated into English and evaluated showing final GPA scores by a credit evaluation service.
  • The GMAT test (or an equivalent test) is required with a minimum score of 400.
  • Two letters of recommendation, preferably one from a faculty member and one from an employer.
  • An essay of 200-300 words describing the applicant’s motivation and goals.
  • Employment experience.
  • Results from the TOEFL, from applicants whose native language is not English, with a minimum score of 200 computer based or 533 paper based.
