Using Email in myCourses

The myCourses mail tool should be used to communicate personal and private issues with other myCourses users who are enrolled in the same course sections in which you are enrolled. The mail tool functions similar to other email programs.

You can access your myCourses mail in two ways:

1. Access the email tool from the myCourses portal page.

From the toolbar, select the mail icon.    myCourses Mail Portal Icon

The global view of mail appears listing all courses and sections in which you are enrolled.

Messages are listed in the right frame. There are four columns:

Subject: lists the message title. Messages are displayed in reverse chronological order. Unread mail is indicated by the closed mail icon to the left of the message title and bold text.
Author: tells you the author of the mail message.
Date: indicates the date and time that the message was sent.
Actions: contains icons which allow you to perform actions on a mail message.

To read a message, click on the hyperlinked subject title in the right frame.
