Emergency Contact Verification Holds
Responding to increased concerns about security issues of all kinds on University campuses nationwide, the UMass Dartmouth campus is initiating a process that requires students to provide and/or verify their Emergency Contact information on a regular basis. This information will be used to contact designated individuals in the event of an emergency involving you as a student on campus.
When you first log into COIN this semester, you will notice an entry in Your Holds Summary (located on the Learner Services homepage) indicating an Emergency Contact Verification Hold. This Hold will prevent all Registration/Add/Drop/Swap a Class activity until you take action to provide and/or verify your Emergency Contact information.
Students will be able to release this hold themselves by following the instructions below.
Emergency Contact Verification Instructions
Students will need to have contact information such as a name, address, and telephone number available to enter and/or verify for completing the Emergency Contacts page. To enter and/or verify the Emergency Contact information:
- Log into COIN Student Self-Service
- View the Emergency Contact Verification Hold
- Follow instructions found on the the Emergency Contact Verification Hold
For more detailed instructions, view the Emergency Contact Information Job Aid.
