The undergraduate commencement will be held under the large tent. Please follow the signs and directions of commencement and public safety staff. There is plenty of space for students and ticketed people, and nearby overflow locations can accomodate everyone else.
The ceremony is delayed by one hour, and will begin at about 11:15 am EST.
The ceremony will be broadcast live to several indoor locations nearby with big screens and plenty of seating; we encourage you to take advantage of them.
Alternate seating can be found at the Campus Center, the Library, and other marked locations.
You will be notified via the UMD web site and Marquee at the front gate to the campus by 7:00 a.m. on the day of commencement if the rain plan is in effect. You can also call 508-999-8000 for the current status.
If the rain plan is in effect, the main ceremonies for both commencements will be held under the large tent next to the ampitheater. It is large enough to hold all of the graduating students and their ticketed guests. Additional locations in the library, auditorium and campus center will be available for guests who cannot fit in the tent.

The parking and traffic rules will not change if the rain plan is in effect. Please follow directions and park where directed.
There will be signage directing you to the various locations and options. Please respect the staff and security officers who may direct you to these venues.
