Pre-order your commencement video online
Firewire Films will videotape both ceremonies in this year's commencement. You can order a DVD now, online or at the ceremonies. There will be separate DVDs for each ceremony; each costs $40 Read more.
Caps and gowns available starting April 16th
The University Campus Store will distribute caps, gowns & hoods to degree candidates beginning Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Bachelor and Master Gowns are issued based on height and degree. No fitting required. Students may pick up their commencement regalia with their student ID in the textbook department of the Campus Store during regular Store hours listed in the Campus Store Commencement Flyer [PDF].
For those students who are unable to visit the Store during regular store hours, please contact Jann Stahl, Jstahl@umassd.edu, 508 999-8181 to arrange for shipment.
The Campus Store will also distribute the appropriate honor cord:
- Cum laude (GPA 3.20 - 3.49) = white
- Magna cum laude (GPA 3.50 - 3.79) = blue
- Summa cum laude (GPA 3.80 - 4.00) = red
Honor cords are based on student GPA as of December 2007, and will not be changed to reflect Spring 2008 grades.
If you have not applied for graduation or paid your graduation fee, please do so immediately at the University Enrollment Center, first floor Administration building. Students must clear all financial obligations to appear on the Store’s approved graduate list on April 16th.

Country Flag Commencement Sashes
The International Student and Scholar Center in collaboration with the Office for International and Exchange Study Programs is offering the University community the opportunity to purchase a sash to wear at the Commencement ceremony. You can choose your home country or the country with whom you identify either by origin, study abroad, or by affiliation.
Each individual country's flag is reproduced on a sash appropriate for students/faculty or staff to wear with their cap and gown. There are one hundred and ninety country flags and a transglobal as well as a United Nations sash for those who want to be recognized as a global citizen. Please use Commencement Sash as the subject line for the email.We have sample sashes at the Center. The cost for the sash is $29.95 each and orders will only be processed when paid in full. There is much interest, so place your order as soon as possible but no later than April 11, 2008.
