Joseph Feitelberg is the Chairman of The Feitelberg Company, Inc. of Fall River, Massachusetts. This insurance/brokerage firm of 50 persons operates from six locations in the eastern Massachusetts area, and Mr. Feitelberg has been associated with the company since 1959, serving as its Chief Executive since 1968.
Mr. Feitelberg has been a significant force in the SouthCoast community for over 30 years, providing particular support and leadership in the areas of education and economic development. He is a member of the Steering Committee for both the SouthCoast Economic Development Partnership and the SouthCoast Educational Compact and a founding board member and sponsor of the Family Business Center. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his dedication and service including: Person of the Year, Boston Board of Fire Underwriters; Outstanding Citizen Award, Fall River Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Annual Distinguished Citizen Award, Bristol Community College; and Entrepreneur of the Year, College of Business and Industry, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Currently, Mr. Feitelberg is a Director, Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers and serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Center for Performance Improvement and Innovation, Insurance Institutes of America. He was a founder and Chairman of “Best Practices”/Presidential Commission to Enhance Agency Value, Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, and has served as a Director on the boards of Bank of Boston, Southeastern Region and the Independent Insurance Agents of Massachusetts.
Mr. Feitelberg holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from College of the Holy Cross and a Certificate in Advanced Management from Harvard Business School.
