Rain Plans
If rain is imminent for Commencement Day, a decision will be communicated no later than 6:00 a.m. on May 24 & 25 that Commencement will take place at the designated rain locations. This decision will be posted on the UMassD website, emailed to all students, aired on the WUMD radio station, broadcast on the main UMassD telephone line, and listed on the entrance Marquee.
May 24 (Graduate ceremony)
If, and only if, the decision is made to use rain locations, Commencement on May 24 will be held indoors in the Main Auditorium. Extra guests can watch the ceremony on a live video feed in the Library Browsing Area and other indoor viewing locations.
All graduate students and their guests should plan to arrive at the rain locations by 1:00 pm. The entire University ceremony will take place in the Main Auditorium and the ceremony will be broadcast live to each of the other rain locations.
