A cutting-edge program designed for singing teachers of contemporary styles will be offered at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Main Campus on January 25 - 27. The course, entitled "Vocal Pedagogy in the New Millennium" is sponsored by the UMass Dartmouth Music Department and the Jazz Vocal Guild.
New York singing teacher Jeannette LoVetri will offer a Level I certification in her Somatic VoiceworkT method. LoVetri, internationally recognized for her ground breaking ideas, incorporates the latest voice science research with time honored vocal teaching techniques. She is a recipient of the Voice Foundation Van Lawrence Fellowship Award, the New York Singing Teachers' Award and is a National Association of Teachers of Singing honoree for her contributions to vocal pedagogy.
The course is designed to provide accurate, up-to-date tools for singers and teachers who desire to work with rock, pop, jazz, folk, country, blues, R&B, rap and other current styles generically referred to as Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM). Singers of all styles are welcomed to attend.
