Children’s Connections This is a May Institute Program under a DMH contract. They require 3 days of training in Randolph (2 half days and 1 full day), for which they reimburse $100 to volunteers. Requires own CORI check.

Taunton State Hospital Make contact early as they need to do their own CORI check and orientation; this takes time. Students will interact with adult patients in a variety of recreational, vocational, and educational settings. May participate in greenhouse, crafts, cooking, games, nail care, or exercise activities. Students who would like to share their own individual interests and talents are also welcome.

All programs may now require their own CORI. Most will require a meeting with the volunteer to see what activities would work and what times will work for you and the program residents.
When you call a site remember to tell them that you will be there as a volunteer for awhile or only had a volunteer occasionally. Also some programs are new to having Compeer volunteers. Enjoy!

Child and Adolescent Director—Lorna Ketin runs an adolescent age transition group once a month and has a need for help transporting and hanging with the young adults as they go places as a group. (This could also work for volunteers who would like to volunteer additional or make up hours.)
