The Career Resource Center

This section will provide detailed guidelines to go about the recruiting process on-campus.

Interviewing Process

1. Preparation
(Recruiter list, interview preparation: Resume, Cover Letter, Company Research, Mock-Interview, Professional Dress, References and Thank you letters.  Review manila folders located in the lobby area of the Career Resource Center for company Job description(s), literature and (if required) applications)
Preparation is the key to a successful interview. Obtain company annual reports/brochures and a Career Guide from the Career Resource Center (CRC). The staff can help you with résumé preparation, career planning, developing interviewing skills and dressing appropriately for an interview.

2. Deadline for Résumés
Submit your résumé and application (if specified) by the deadline date. Place said documents in the resume steel organizer, located in the Career Resource Center, room 024. Do not submit your résumé if you are not interested in the company. Once you are chosen to be interviewed, you are expected to sign up.

3. Previews
(A preview is an informational session conducted by a company representative. The representative will discuss the company, job opportunities, advancement potential, company benefits, etc. Time is also provided for students to ask the recruiter questions concerning the company. ATTENDANCE IS ENCOURAGED)

Check recruiter list and sign up if you plan to attend.

4. Screening
All résumés will be sent to the recruiter(s) for screening; and recruiter(s) will send the office a list of names for the recruiting date (final schedule).

5. Finalized Interview Schedule List
Check Interview sign sheet on our bulletin board, one week before interview date to see if you were selected for an interview.

6. Sign-up
For convenient interview times, if you were selected.

7. Show-up
Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled interview.

8. No-Shows
All students and alumni who are scheduled for an on-campus interview must contact the Career Resource Center within 24 hours of that interview if unable to attend. Future recruiting rights will be cancelled for students and alumni who fail to attend two (2) scheduled recruiter interviews.

9. Follow-up
Meet with Assistant Director, Recruitment Coordinator to review employer feedback on your interview performance.

10. Successful Landing
Please inform us (CRC) of your employment status upon graduation (# of interview(s), job offer(s), callbacks and career track etc).
