  This workshop is intended for anyone who is interested in obtaining grants in the education, public or private sector. We especially invite nonprofit leaders and personnel, nonprofit teams, members of nonprofit executive and advisory boards, and educational leaders to attend.

  A full day conference on effective communication and conflict resolution. As administrators, coaches or teacher leaders, we often come up against situations where difficult topics must be addressed. What do we know about the best strategies for those moments? Based on research around conflict and interpersonal communications, this session will provide participants with action plan and scripting tools for having those necessary hard conversations. Will be held at CUSP in Fairhaven.

Living and Learning Together:
Social Studies in the Early Childhood Classroom

$145 plus a $30 registration fee

  In this series of five workshops, we will consider four major strands of social studies (history, civics, economics and geography) through the lenses of culturally responsive teaching and appropriate early childhood practice. We will review sample units All About Me, Celebrating Families, and Economics: Wants & Needs, Why People Work, Money. We will consider appropriate assessment strategies for young learners. In order to meet PDP requirements, participants will write informal journal entries. The course fee includes journals, copies of the units, and numerous resources.
