The Teacher Leadership Academy of Massachusetts

Mission Statement

The Teacher Leadership Academy of Massachusetts is a leadership organization composed of educators recognized for their exemplary teaching practice in K-12 classrooms. Academy fellows have demonstrated their ability to effectively communicate and enthusiastically share that practice with others.

The academy

• supports the professional growth of teachers toward student achievement
• fosters teacher leadership
• works to influence educational perspectives and policy
• encourages professional renewal within a caring community of colleagues

The Teacher Leadership Academy of Massachusetts is a grass roots organization established as an academy by the University of Massachusetts. It is an affiliated program of the Center for University, School, and Community Partnerships (CUSP) at UMass Dartmouth.
