Music Facilities
Located on the North Dartmouth campus in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, practice rooms equipped with pianos are available to all qualified students. Students enrolled in private studies may practice on the Steinway and Baldwin grand pianos and the Hubbard harpsichord, and use university percussion and other equipment. Two electronic music studios offer wide opportunities in electronic composition, recording technology, and sound production. An intimate recital hall and a large auditorium, both equipped with Steinway concert grand pianos, are available for student, faculty, and guest artists concerts.
The CVPA's music facilities include an 800-seat auditorium, intimate 200-seat recital hall, computer-aided music stations, electronic clavinova piano lab, electronic music studios for electronic composition, recording technology and sound production, campus-wide computer network, Steinway concert grand pianos, traditional and non-western percussion instruments (i.e. Indonesian Gamelan, African Percussions, Steel Drums), and individual practice rooms.
