Two CVPA undergrads had winning entries in the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists' (AATCC) Concept 2 Consumer Design Competition. In this national contest, junior ELIZABETH EARLY placed first in the Apparel Category for her piece Raining Cats-Dogs, while Artisanry Certificate Program student JUSTINE FALLON place second in the Interior Category for her piece Hanami Blooming. The students received prize money ($1000 for Early, $500 for Fallon), a portfolio certificate, and complimentary student registration for the 2007 AATCC Conference in Charleston, South Carolina.
Textile Design/Fiber Arts major CHRISTIN RITZ was recently named winner of Arnold Arboretum's Lilac Sunday T-Shirt Design Contest. Her design will be seen at this year's celebration, to be held May 13, 2007, at the arboretum in Jamaica Plain, MA. Christin is also the recent recipient of the Barbara L. Kuhlman Foundation Scholarship. The $1700 award is given by the Foundation to support the study of fiber arts.
