CHARLOTTE HAMLIN: Biography
Charlotte Hamlin teaches in the Textile Design and Fiber Arts Program and currently serves as the Coordinator for Graduate Studies and Research within the college. She received a BA in Anthropology from University of Pennsylvania, a BSN in Nursing from Columbia, an MS in Nursing from Boston University and an MFA in Fibers from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1998.
Her work has appeared in national and regional shows including Fiberart International in Pittsburgh PA, Chautauqua International for Fiberart, the Knitting and Stitching Show, London/Birmingham/Dublin, and The Clay Studio in Philadelphia PA.
My earlier work addressed loss and the attachment that precedes it. I attempted to capture the moment when the absence is physically known.
Recently, I find myself examining the currents ahead and how we might juggle our effort, the encroachment of time, and the weight of uncertainty. How do we prepare?
